Extended Services is the opening up of schools into the community, offering their facilities outside school hours for pupils, their families and the local community.
What's on offer depends on what the school and the community want. Generally if services cannot be provided by the school, they can be found nearby.
Wilberfoss Primary School's Extended Services Provision
Wilberfoss Primary School, working in partnership with local providers, meets the full core offer as detailed in government guidelines (see below for details).
Stay and Play Club
We offer a Stay and Play Lunch Club for the F1 children. The club runs from 11.50 a.m. to 12.50 p.m. at a cost of £3.50 per day. The children can have a school dinner costing a further £2.00 or bring a packed lunch which they eat together and then have structured play in the F1 soft play area. They are supervised at all times by a designated member of staff, and play in a group in their own area, not with the older children on the large playground. Children are collected from the F2 classroom door that leads onto the covered soft play area. Parents or carers may either book a regular place for their child on set days each week, paid for in advance, or choose ‘occasional days’ on an ad hoc basis which can be booked and paid for as required.
Please get in touch with the school for more details of the Extended Services Provision we offer.
Kiddies Corner Day Nursery offers wrap around care for Wilberfoss Primary.
From the Kiddies Corner website:
"You will find us next to Wilberfoss Primary School and as well as caring for babies and toddlers we also offer wrap around care for children both at the main school and the school foundation unit. Children once out of the foundation stage are cared for in a temporary class room behind the school. This is called the Kids Club."
