Sports Day Celebrations
Thank you to everyone who supported both Sports Days and the Sports Day celebration that followed the KS1 and KS2 races. We were delighted to see so many parents, grandparents and children stay to enjoy the ice cream, burgers and bouncy castle! Thank you also to all the pupils who sang and played instruments to add to the entertainment.
We raised an impressive £500, which included a generous donation from the people running the ice cream van - Paul’s Ices.
All the money raised from the Sports Day refreshments and celebration event will be added to the playground equipment fund.
If you have walked through the KS2 playground this week you will see that the preparatory work has begun to install the new playground equipment. We are very excited to see it being installed and look forward to seeing the children enjoying the new equipment. Any donations towards the playground equipment would be gratefully received.

Last week saw one of FOWS’ (in)famous charity meals take place! An enjoyable evening was spent in The Pavilion with good food, good company and a few glasses of bubbles. The evening raised £89. Thank you to everyone who supported the event.

Wilberfoss Scarecrow Festival 2016 – 3 and 4 September 2016
We are pleased to confirm that the Wilberfoss Scarecrow Festival committee has chosen FOWS to be one of the charities that benefits from this year’s event.
We are very grateful to the committee for recognising the role FOWS plays in the local community. The money raised will go towards the new playground equipment. School will be taking part in this year’s
festival by creating their own scarecrows. If you live in the village and would like to take part
please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your scarecrow or to find out more information. This year’s theme is cartoon characters.
