Food Allergy Advice

Information on food allergens present in school dinners is available from the school office.

If your child is allergic to a particular food and/or requires a special diet please speak to a member of staff in the office so that we can provide a suitable meal.

School Meals

School meals are available for all Full-Time pupils at a cost of:

Free School Meals for Foundation 2, Year 1 and Year 2 from September 2014

From September 2014 every child in Foundation 2, Year 1 and Year 2 will be provided with a free school dinner every day.

The quality of the food will remain high and some small changes to the food standards will allow the cooks a little more flexibility in constructing their menus. Special diets and vegetarians will be catered for but there will not be a sandwich option.

We very much hope that every child will take up his or her free school meal here in Wilberfoss School. There will have to be some changes to the way we currently operate the dining room but we see this as a real opportunity to improve the dining experience for all pupils.

Foundation Stage 1 - Stay & Play Club!

Would you like your child to stay on in Foundation Stage from 11:50 - 12:50?

Would you like your child to have the chance to eat their lunch (packed lunch or one of our great school dinners) in the Foundation Stage, sharing the dinner time experience with the rest of the school?

Then we think the FOUNDATION STAGE STAY AND PLAY CLUB is the thing for you.

We offer a Stay and Play Lunch Club for the F1 children.  The club runs from 11.50 a.m. to 12.50 p.m. at a cost of £3.50 per day.  The children can have a school dinner costing a further £2.00 or bring a packed lunch which they eat together and then have structured play in the F1 soft play area.  They are supervised at all times by a designated member of staff, and play in a group in their own area, not with the older children on the large playground.  Children are collected from the F2 classroom door that leads onto the covered soft play area. Parents or carers may either book a regular place for their child on set days each week, paid for in advance, or choose ‘occasional days’ on an ad hoc basis which can be booked and paid for as required.

The food is great, the experience is wonderful, it really gives them the chance to socialise and feel like very grown-up children. They even sometimes have some specially chosen Year 6 helpers to come in and share the experience with them.

Please get in touch with the school if you think your child would be interested.
