Believe, Grow, Achieve

Welcome from the Church Community

On behalf of the Parish Church of St John the Baptist, Wilberfoss and the Foundation Governors, I would like to welcome you to our school.

Wilberfoss School is a Church of England Primary School, and so the relationship with the local church and the Diocese of York, is important and life-giving, adding another dimension of community involvement, support, care and assessment for our school.

The links with the local church are vitally important and these bonds have been greatly strengthened in the last couple of years.

Every school is subject to regular Ofsted Inspections, but because we are a Church of England School, we also have a SIAMS Inspection (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools).  In May 2014, at our last inspection, we were rated “Outstanding”.

The links with the local church are vitally important and these bonds have been greatly strengthened in the last couple of years.  The children visit regularly for special events and years groups come each term to share Collective Worship in the church.

I visit the school regularly to take CW and always feel welcome to spend time, getting to know the children and support the staff.  It really is a huge privilege and joy to be involved in our school as we flourish in ‘The Wilberfoss Way’ and embed our core Christian values of perseverance, thankfulness and friendship.
